The WHR Award nominees (hosting companies) for the year 2009 were not the big shots of the web hosting industry but then the nominees list got narrowed down to a list of 3 web hosts who surprisingly were not so called established companies but were relatively newcomers to the web hosting business. There was tight race going on between IXWebHosting, BlueHost and 1AND1. The feedback received from the users was all positive and then the voting passed on to the reviewer board that consists of 10 members and each of the member would rate a web host between 1 and 10 where 1 being the least and 10 being the best.

Each member had to give his rating for the following categories, general impression of the Web Hosting Company, Price and Cost Effectiveness, Customer Service, Data Center and Control Panel. After a whole day of review and voting the results were out.
